Buwan ng Wika 2016

          Ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa aming paaralan ay noong Agosto 26, 2016. Ang ating gagawin sa buwan ng Agosto ay magmahal sa ating wika, magkain ng mga pagkaing Filipino, sa pagrerespeto at pagkaalam sa ating kultura, sa paglalaro ng mga panlaruang Pilipino kagaya ng Luksong Baka, Patintero, Luksong Tinik, Sipa at iba pa.

           Sa umaga, nagkakaroon kami ng laruang pinoy na sa una, naglaro kami ng Luksong Baka, pagkatapos, Luksong Tinik, ikatlo ay ang Sipa, at sa wakas ay ang Bahaw-Bahaw. Nagkakaraon din kami ng pagluluto ng mga pagkain sa ating bansa. Sa tanghalian, nagkakaroon kami ng salu-salo kung saan nagkain kami ng barbecue, rice, lechon manok at manok, at iba pang pagkaing Pilipino. Sa hapon naman, nagkaroon kami ng programa kung saan nagkakaroon ng Lakambini at Lakandiwa,
sa interpretasyon ng awit ng 'Paglaom' at iba pa.

           Ang pambansang damit natin ay ang Barong Tagalog sa lalaki at Baro't Saya sa babae. Nagsusuot ako ng isang Barong Tagalog na may Mandarin na kwelyo. May iba't ibang uri ng Barong Tagalog rin. Ipagsusuot din to sa mga kasal, susuotin din ito sa mga presidente sa bansa, syempre lalo na sa Buwan ng Wika. Sa panahon sa pagkolonisahan ng mga Espanyol sa ating bansa, ang Barong Tagalog ay kailangan sa mga Espanyol para sa mga Filipinos (Indios) na kailangan susuotin para ipagpakita ang kaibahan sa mayaman at mahirap. Si Ramon Magsaysay ay ang unang presidente na nakasuot ng Barong Tagalog at idineklara ni Marcos ang 'Barong Tagalog Week' na sa Hunyo 5 hanggang Hunyo 11.

Thursday's Journal

          Today was Thursday and there was nothing really special. At Music time, we had an activity about the rhythmic patterns. I really had no idea how to clap the eighteenth note because we stopped at the eighth note. The problem is, we really had to present what we did.

          During Science time, we continue the quiz bowl and we won it by 45 points. During health time, we had a test about the changes in development and it was easy but I forgot some things.

          During English time, we wrote a story about something. My story was about discrimination because those things are usually present now.

           During the night, I made our project: Travel Brochure. My sisters got angry because I just did it today and they told me that the deadline is on Monday. For me, I did it to prevent hassle.

Wednesday's Journal

            I woke up during 4:30 in the morning because of course, I didn't encode my research paper which the deadline was supposed to be today. I managed to complete it just before we went to school.

          During ESP, we had a practice on our variety show. Since most of my classmates 'procrastinate' and chill (means that they keep on talking instead of practicing), they still failed to practice today. We made our emcee because me and my classmate will host the show.

          When it was Science, we had a quiz bowl. I usually like these type of games because its fun and you can learn from it.

          It was time for PE. We had stretching before the practical test, but my teacher got angry because most of my classmates kept on talking. So my teacher proceeded immediately to the test. I was very nervous plus I was one of the students who performed early. The result was okay and I managed to do the back bend and toe-head touch.

           For me, the most fun time was TLE. We measured dry ingredients for baking because I wish to bake (sadly we don't have oven). Even though it was just simply measuring. we still leaned many things and had fun.

Tuesday's Journal

          Tuesday - it was almost the deadline for our research paper. Sadly I didn't encode the research paper today because my sisters used the computer.

          When it was Science time, our teacher gave us time to work on our research paper. I was almost done with it I went to the library to search things about my topic. I checked my grammar and content so that there would be no mistakes. Then, I ate very late for lunch because I was still researching about my topic.

          We used the library time to practice for our variety show. Still, most of my classmates didn't practice properly.

             At night, I was burning materials for my research paper. I was able to burn wood, paper and cloth, but not cement because its impossible to burn. I successfully did it, but of course I ended up sleeping and didn't encode.

Monday's Journal

          Mondays - school, projects, school, projects and school! But hey, you can be able to have fun with your friends and learn new things.

          On Science time, it was all about Math. We discussed on concentration of solution. Most of us didn't understand it well, but good thing I understood it. Here is the formula:

And it turns out it was easy as pie.

          During ICL, we practiced for the presentation on Filipino was our performance and we are very nervous, but we finished successfully.

          On the afternoon, it was our test for A.P, we and our classmates worked very hard on studying it, buuuut it turns out it was just very easy

          On dismissal, I ate pancit canton and we played 'luksong baka' and I failed to do the high portion.

Sunday's Journal

          Ahh Sunday, the family bonding, going to the church, and the sweet foods. Don't you think its a good day?

          I woke up early, but not early really because I slept again. I still had nothing to do in the morning so I used my mother's phone for music. I was dancing of course, because I had nothing to do, and sometimes that's what I do even though I suck at it.

          My lunch for this day was very delicious: Humba. My father cooked it and the rest of the family had enjoyed this wonderful food.

           By 2 PM, I took a nap. We are supposed to go to church at 3 PM but we just went on 4 PM. The church we wen is Lourdes Parish Church.

           After that, we went on buying groceries. We suddenly arrived at night by 7 PM. By dinner we ate noodles as our food. After that, I slept instead of doing my assignments.

Saturday's Journal

          It's just a simple Saturday; just laying down in the bed doing nothing. I woke up on 7 am and asking my parents to use the computer, thinking that I would be relaxing. And a thing pops up in my mind and that's the time I forgot my essay! I was really anxious because most of the people had passed already. I stopped thing about the negative things I quick and I posted it on 7:47 am. I moved on pretending I didn't know that I was late in passing.

          For me, every Saturday is the lazy day. We didn't go to any place and we just stayed at the house using gadgets, eating food but on afternoon of course, I did my Friday blog. At night, I used the computer, I also typed the Friday blog, I looked my Facebook since it was too boring, I watched Youtube videos and before I slept, I watched baking videos. After that, I went onto the bed, sleeping.

Friday's Journal

                         Well, this day is Friday and I bet this is good news for me! There are good things and not-so-good things that I've encountered on this day.

                          As I woke up in the morning, I knew I'm going to present in class during Filipino. I am going to expect to get a not-so-high score in the presentation because we lack practice. We practiced for ICL and as Filipino came, I feel nervous. The group members are all boys and they are hard to handle. The best thing was, the teacher moved the presentation on Monday and gave her time to practice, but I feel like the presentation is also going to be a bad one. I also reminded them about the costume and the props and I'm likely expecting them to forget so I prepared also my backup costumes. Good luck to me on Monday.

                           On 3:30 PM, we had our 'first Friday mass'. Everything was well prepared than the last one, but the thing that I noticed is that children don't know what to do. They don't know when to sit, to stand, or to kneel. I'm a bit glad they sand the songs but I feel like they didn't attend masses during Sunday. So I was still disappointed.

                           As my father pick us up, my sister said there was an emergency. My mother said that our grandmother died. Not when she died there, my uncle wanted my mother to see how he beat up our Lola (Lola means grandmother). He doesn't realize what he's going to do to her. I really, really want him to be arrested. He is also a drug user in the past and sometimes he does harmful things to his children. As we arrived in Jollibee, I realized it was fake and I'm glad to see my Lola alive. We ate dinner there and since I was very tired, I slept in the car and after we went home, I slept after arriving without realizing I forgot an assignment that has to be passed today.

Thursday's Journal

             Being a high school student is not as easy as it seems when being on elementary. I expect more performance tasks to pile up my school tasks, which is harder with hard-headed members. I really had no time to do my favorite things  — playing video games. Since I really want to focus on my studies, I simply listen to my favorite music while doing assignments. I was more stressed as high school came.

             But most of my hard work and effort had paid off. I wasn't expecting to get a perfect score in our music class (it was a performance and performance is 60% of our grade) and it was by group. The best thing is that, I managed to make four boys (most of the boys in our class are hard-headed and are mostly misbehaved) memorized the whole thing and I believe that they cooperated with me and I've improved my way of leading. I made then practice it everyday which is why the memorized it, I was 100% shocked when my teacher gave the scores and for me alone, I felt very proud of my group.Originally, my classmate chose his friends (including me) to be his members. I hated it a bit, but now, I was wrong. i also managed to get a good score in some of our projects and performances. One project has a score of 30/30, one has a score of 101/110 (it's a speech and I know it may be low), 27/30, 26/30 and 48/50 in some of our performance tasks. I know I may be bragging but I really feel proud of what I've done. I know I can do a lot better, but I need some time to do this one by one.

              As I said, highschool is not easy to handle. You need to be strict in disciplining your group members especially if they misbehave. You just need a little time to take a deep breath and relax. And as you've done high school, senior high or college, you'll be rewarded with a better prize from God: a better life.

•My Life Without Technology• -Jude's Blog-

          Without technology, we would be using fire when cooking. We would use a leaf for writing and we might be using other things to write. It would be harder in night because there's no light and no electric fan so you'll sweat too much and we can't see clearly in the night. There would be no internet and no computers thus, our our lives would be harder. We would be using snail mail if there's no email and we couldn't communicate easily if there's no telephone.

             Without technology, our lives would be harder and uncomfortable. Our lives would be boring if there's no television to entertain us. We would wait for a long time to receive our mail if there's no email. We couldn't talk easily with each other of there's no Facebook and no telephone. If we're not creative and innovative, this modern life wouldn't exist so we should be thankful for making technology easier for us.
